It is with profound sorrow and deep respect that we remember Christopher Paul Ohlmeyer, a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated law enforcement professional whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal motorcycle accident while serving in the line of duty during a funeral procession. Deputy Ohlmeyer was 41 years old and a resident of River Ridge, Louisiana.
Christopher’s passing is a heartbreaking loss not only for his family but for the entire Jefferson Parish community and the wider law enforcement family he served with faithfully for nearly 16 years. His commitment to serving others was evident every day—whether he was assisting fellow officers, ensuring public safety, or volunteering his time to escort funeral processions with dignity and honor.

Known for his courage, professionalism, and unwavering sense of duty, Deputy Ohlmeyer spent the majority of his career with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, serving with distinction across various assignments. In 2014, he graduated from the Training Academy and went on to dedicate over a decade of his life protecting and serving the people of the Eastbank. Most recently, he had qualified as a motor officer and was fulfilling a voluntary assignment helping to escort a funeral procession when the tragic crash occurred along Airline Highway.
Christopher’s devotion to his profession was matched only by his love for his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Desiree, and his children, Gavin and Olivia—three cherished souls who were the center of his world. His loss reverberates through their hearts and the hearts of countless others who were touched by his kindness, friendship, and commitment to service.
